God, please HELP!!!!!!

Photobucket
I realized on this trip that I AM SCREWED! There's no pretty word for what I forsee in my future... nope, no pretty word AT. ALL!

You see, I have this little 2 year old that has the attitude of a young little tween all packed with a load of hormones.

I know this,
I see this,
but I really
NEED TO GET ON DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!

She hits, she thinks it's hilarious to NOT listen, she glares, rolls her eyes, yells.... oh shit! I'm describing myself!!!!  Damn it, {Kandi}!  You were right.... all I needed to do this whole time was look in the damn mirror to figure out where she gets all this from.  This little devilish precious walking mini me CANNOT turn out ANYTHING like me {well, me as an adolescent} .  So, I've gotta roll up the sleeves and get to work on her.  I'm realizing that just because she has a heart problem doesn't mean that she should get away with EVERYTHING..... so I'm about to embark on a world of hardness..... expect many blog posts about this.

Any advice for me?

Do you do time outs? I find that those work the best for Keegan at this age. He HATES two minutes in the corner when he can hear everything going on but can't see it. If he starts acting like an ass, most of the time all I have to do is threaten time-out and he goes "NO NO NO! No time out!" LOL!

I have the same problem, but I really don't know where she gets it from :) I mean seriously!! I have a feisty, smart, independent, red-headed 3 yr old. Time-Outs is what we do now, but I may have to get meaner to get her out of this streak. Good Luck to you!!

Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family has written a wonderful book called Bringing Up Boys. He is currently writing a book on raising daughters that I think is expected to be released sometime next year. I'm eagerly awaiting its arivial. :)

No matter what discipline or encouragement style you and Gino choos for her the KEY is CONSISTANCY. If you are not consistant with it, she will not learn. If you threaten to take something away, take it away if she doesn't listen. If you threaten to spank, spank if she doesn't listen. If you put her in a corner or nose to the wall and she doesn't stay, you need to take the 2 minutes and sit there with her.
Discipline makes the parents life very hard...I hate disciplining, it's "easier" to just let them get their way. I'm WAY easier on Mason than I was on Zoe and I'm in the same position as you are now, with him being disrespectful, not listening and calling everyone a bitch or screaming the word bullshit at the supermarket. So, Mike and I have to put ourselves and our activities second to the discipline of Mason and it's beginning to work. But we are consistant with him, with his actions come responses and he's starting to learn that.

Good luck, you and Gino are great parents and Jayden is a great older brother. She'll be ok...ok??
Love you, Sammy

God bless you friend! You do definitely have a tough couple of weeks ahead of you until she starts to respond to your consistency. To your benefit Ella is so friggin smart! You see everything she does...she knows she's not supposed to be doing it...so when you couple that with consequences and stick with it, she'll learn really quick! Now that doesn't mean she (or you) is going to like it. However, you will appreciate your choice that you made about this at 2 years old, rather than 10.
I agree with Sammy...disciplining is the hardest thing you could do. They will test you so many time for many many more years to come and you have to never give in! Many times giving in would be so much easier, but then you just lost everything you did. You are such a good loving momma...just remember it's o.k. to tell them when they are doing wrong as long as you make sure to tell them when they are doing right too!
I love you friend and am here for you with whatever I can do.
May the force be with you. LOL

Oh, no! Isabella has been a big handful lately, too. Maybe it's the whole 2 year old thing?

But, Ella is adorable!! Such a little cutie!

I know you're serious but I can't help but laugh, only because I have a little mini-me of my own. I had to put her in her place just today!
